Tom Hansen has the distinction of being one of Tampa Bay's most sought after theatrical and visual artists. Born in Cooperstown, NY, Tom lived in numerous American cities during his formative years and early artistic career. During this period, he was able to spend much of his time observing his ever-changing surroundings while forming an early appreciation for form and design. Following his education, he relocated to Bradenton, FL and began to build his professional art and design credentials at Chrishawn Art Studios and Famous Faces, Inc. There, he was able to work with Bruce and Judy Morris who jump-started Hansen's career by marketing and distributing his first celebrity portrait prints throughout the United States and Europe. At the young age of 22, Hansen began working as a scenic artist, painting and building sets designed by Lino Toyos and fabricated under the direction of Christopher McVicker. Hansen learned the "tricks" of scenic artistry under the guidance of Sharon Massey, an accomplished scenic painter and fine artist. Tom found that his artistic experience helped him to bend the mold in the theatrical milieu by experimenting with color and form.
